CRASH
CRASH aka Liam Tracy began his musical journey first on drums at the age of 3, then began studying cello at the age of 4 and then picked up guitar at age 8. He had a beautiful sound and strong musicianship from the start.
At age 8 Liam began receiving awards for his cello playing year after year. At age 9, Liam’s piano trio, Three of a Kind, received Honorable Mention in Chicago at The Midwest Young Artists Discover Chamber Music Competition. As a member of Three of a Kind, Liam participated as a cellist in several masterclasses with famed concert violinist and educator, Midori. During July 2012, Liam was selected to solo at the Chicago Suzuki Institute and in October 2013 he participated in a master class with Emilio Colon, Associate Professor of Music, Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University and received Honorable Mention in Merit’s 2013 Cedric L. Hampton Endowed Private Lesson Competition.
After relocating to Toronto at age 12, Liam, on cello, was accepted into the prestigious Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists where he was immersed in lessons, chamber music, masterclasses, theoretical studies, ear training and more. In 2016 Liam was recipient of the Kiwanis Club of Kingsway Humber Scholarship and in 2017 Liam was recipient of the Percy Hermant Memorial Award. In both 2016 and 2017 Liam represented Toronto in Provincials and received 2nd Prize and Honorable Mention. Liam continued to place in numerous competitions from 2014-2018.
In 2018 at 16 years old Liam moved to Southern California where his love for songwriting began to blossom. He became more focused on playing guitar, bass and drums. As a music lover of all genres Liam’s musicality and zeal for bringing Rock back to the 2020’s excited his passion and zest for his creativity.
CRASH is currently releasing his self titled EP coming out January 21st, 2022. His first single entitled “Dancing till we’re Dead” will be released on October 15th. The EP was produced and mixed by Stevie Blacke (Avenged Sevenfold, Alice in Chains, Pink) in Sherman Oaks, CA.
